Oil Can Harry's

A sure fire way to have a good time and maybe even shed a pound or two is a night of gay two-stepping and line dancing at Oil Can Harry’s.

Located on Ventura Blvd in the valley Oil Can Harrys offers up country/western dancing on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and, accompanied by a special beer bust, Sunday afternoons. Be sure to get to the bar when the doors open during the week for free line dancing lessons. There are usually 2 – 3 new lines dances taught every week . And not to worry, these lessons are for those with both a right and left foot as well as those stumbling in with 2 left feet. The “class” pace is comfortably slow and the instructor is warm and patient. Add beer or a favorite mixed drink, friends and a few “cowboys/girls” and a good time is sure to be had by all. Stick around long enough and the line dances taught early on in the night are mixed in with the rest of the playlist. By the time 10:00 pm on weeknights rolls around the floor is filled with novice and seemingly pro dancers alike. So even if you don’t want to dance it is just as fun to watch.

And by the way, the bar, the dancing and the lessons aren’t only for those that are gay – bring your straight friends along. Everyone is invited to work up a little sweat, share a few laughs and have a good old fashioned time...y'all.
